We Provide Forest Management Services For All Aspects Of Planting, Land Maintenance, Landscaping and Silviculture Nationwide Throughout New Zealand.
We have planted approximately 36 million plants, native bushes and native trees in many different project types within the last 11 years and still growing. We are a forest management company providing a comprehensive focused forest management service to nurseries, landscape designers, civil engineers, land developers, forestry contractors and farmers.
All our forestry services and planting projects are of the highest standard with an emphasis on quality, working to job specifications and time frames.
We cater for small and large scale forestry projects with up to date techniques and equipment. All our staff are NZQA accredited and safety is of the highest priority, which is reflected in our ACC history.
Morgan Townsend
Director
Morgan oversees all Team leaders and their teams across the business, their general running and the business running. If you are based in the North Island, Morgan is the person you will deal directly with for quotations and planning your project.
Morgan has been in the profession of planting trees for approx 16 years. He originally started out in the forestry industry but identified that there was a niche market for native planting.
Morgan brings a huge amount of experience and enthusiasm to this industry. He has a unique ability to capture a vision and mould certain aspects of it, in order to improve or take it one step further. He has exceptional knowledge in plant species and knows which conditions and areas best suit each plant type.
You can rely on Morgan to see the project through from start to finish easily, effortlessly and with minimal error. He believes his staff are one of the most highly important assets to his business and without them this company would not be possible.

Lauchie Weston
Director of Field Operations
Graduating with a Bachelor of Forestry Science (Hons) in 2019, Lauchie began his career in the Forestry Industry as an Export Operations Supervisor in the Log Export game. Over his 5 years with his previous company he worked his way up to be the National Operations Manager in 2023. Through his experience, Lauchie has managed to create strong relationships with the people who shape the forestry industry and this transfers across to Native Solutions business.
He has a great knowledge of not only Silviculture but also the entire Forestry Industry, giving him a well-rounded understanding of establishment through to the final product. Having this broad view will assist prospective clients as he can offer knowledge around the best options for each unique scenario and allows flexibility in his approach to every project.
Lauchie is the contact for all quoting and tenders. He works closely alongside Morgan and Kate Townsend to ensure each project is handled with the upmost care and precision as needed. He is the direct contact for all project managers and clients, guiding the Team leaders to meet the project requirements, safely and to a high standard.

Kate Townsend
Director
Kate has 10 years’ experience in the administration side of the business. She has a vast amount of knowledge not only in the administrative side of the company but also what happens out on the field.
She is the link between external providers such as Work and Income, Immigration, and LSV.
Kate also takes care of the invoices, any queries for accounts receivable and the administration behind quotations, recruitment and HR.
Kate works on a part time basis between the hours of Monday to Friday 9am – 2.30pm in the office.

Chris Steer
Operations Manager
Chris leads operational delivery across both islands, ensuring our teams complete projects safely, efficiently, and to a high environmental and commercial standard. Holding a BSc in Ecology, Biodiversity and Geography, he brings strong experience in forestry, compliance, ecological fieldwork, and operational leadership.
Prior to joining Native Solutions, Chris worked in senior advisory roles at the Ministry for Primary Industries, specialising in forest management, environmental compliance, stakeholder engagement, and field-based investigations. He is skilled in ArcGIS Pro, UAV mapping (CAR101), spatial reporting, and ecological data collection.
Chris is certified in Growsafe, First Aid, LUV/ATV, 4WD, and UAV operations. He has extensive experience leading teams in remote environments and now supports Native Solutions in driving operational performance, building workforce capability, and maintaining consistent, high-quality delivery across all project sites.
Tekapa Luke (TK)
Team Leader – North Island
TK is started with us in 2011 and has worked his way up to our Team Leader. He has a vast amount of experience in the industry.
He is responsible for the everyday running of the WEX Hamilton team.
H & S: Advance Site Safe Passport, Construct Safe Tier 1, Growsafe certified, Approved Agri Chemical Handler and Frist Aid certificate holder.
Nathan Mould
Team Leader – South Island
Nathan has been a long-standing member of the Native Solutions team, starting with the company in 2016 as a restoration landscaper. Nathan has worked hard over the last 6 years and was promoted to be a team leader within our South Island team in 2022.
He has a vast understanding of Native revegetation and their maintenance needs, along with experience in silvicultural practices. Nathan has a drive to learn new things and loves to share his passion for Native plants with his team and his clients. Health and safety are paramount, and he will always ensure that the crew are working as safely as possible whilst delivery a high-quality finish for all Native Solutions projects.
H and S: Construct Safe Level 1, First Aid Certificate, Chemical handling, and storage certified, NZTA TTM Inspector card
Michelle
Operations Administrator
Michelle has been an integral part of the Native Solutions team for 4+ years. She has an extensive background in management, administration and is highly organised and meticulous. She cares for many areas of the administration within the company. She is your go to for recruitment, Health and Safety, Immigration, product orders and accommodation requirements to name a few. She works closely with the Director of Field Operations, Directors, Team Leaders and Melissa.
Michelle works part time – Monday to Thursday 9am – 2.30pm.
Melissa
Administration and Accounts
Melissa is our office based accounts and administration extraordinaire. She works closely with the office team, Kate Townsend and Michelle. She has an extensive background in administration and Accounts Payable and Receivable.
She is responsible for Accounts Payable and Receivable, Bookkeeping and anything administration based.
Melissa works part time Monday – Friday 9am – 2pm.
